Computer Graphics

I'm interested in this class because computers are the way of life and if I can learn how to use them in different ways I feel like I will have a better chance at getting a good job or something like that. I needed an elective and I decided another art class would be a cool experience.

Final project proposals

my first proposal, we follow a young hunter as he looks for prey. starting out in some somewhat dense wooded area he searches tirelessly for his next meal. with little luck at first, and becoming slightly frustrated, as he is about to give up, he encounters a formidable opponent. making sure to use extreme stealth, he sneaks up on the target and gets the job done. weapon of choice, Recurve Bow.

My second proposal, a performer gets ready to complete his set at a famous comedy club, where his career will surely take off. we start off backstage, he is nervous and its almost time. his name gets called and we follow him out to the stage where he does his thing. seemingly effortless he gives the best performance of his life. as he continues he only becomes more comfortable and has a great time. little did you know that the audience was empty the whole time. a voice with an important opinion, gone unheard because of prejudice and the standard that only certain peoples opinions matter.

Henri Cartier-Bresson critique

I selected this picture as my favorite because it really shows the vulnerability of the human mind and body. This man appears to be on the street selling potatoes or apples, and he is so tired, despite all of his responsibilities and commotion going on around him, he is able to fall asleep sitting up. he looks slightly blurry and the background is perfectly clear so it seems like the photographer captured the moment right before his head tilted back or right before he actually dozed off. the drawn man in the middle of the photo shows quite the opposite however. the drawn eyes are so wide that it appears he could never fall asleep. its almost like a guardian to the over-worked soul of the vender. the mouth of the drawn man is wide open and it makes him look surprised to see something that's just out of the frame, like someone was coming to take advantage of the sleeping mans state and steal all of his goods. personally I think the framing of the photo could be better to tell a different story. the point of view is basically eye level which is kind of boring. obviously there is nothing the photographer could have done about the color scheme. I like this photo a lot because I can relate to this man, I fall asleep while doing things that are important all the time. sometimes you just cant help it. when I look at this photo, the real man whom is asleep captures my eye first, because he is the brightest with his white shirt and his face. then my eye moves to the basket of goods, because he is leaving on it and it as well is slightly blurry. after I have looked closely at those two elements I wander to the drawn man who is almost right in the center of the photo. while I have made guesses at the expression on his face, it is really an ambiguous look which could stand for a lot of different meanings. the edges of the photo are almost black so it keeps my focus on what is going on in the middle column.
